Xanthos
Odyssey IId, Video Survey Autonomous Underwater Vehicle



With over 500 successful dives this AUV is a reliable and highly capable platform. Originally built as one of five Odyssey IIb class AUVs in 1995, Xanthos was heavily upgraded to the Odyssey IIc class during the summer of 2000. This included installation of brand new control electronics and software.

Xanthos has participated in nearly all of the AUV Lab’s missions including expeditions to New Zealand, The Haro Strait, The Labrador Sea, Elba, Italy, and Nisiros, Greece.
